I’m Denis Hetherington of Solway Driver Training (“me” or “I”) and I’m committed to protecting and respecting your privacy. This policy sets out the basis on which any personal data that you provide to me, will be processed by me. Please read the following to understand my views and practices regarding your personal data and how I will treat it. By submitting personal data to me, you agree to me using your data. Information I may collect from you
I will generally collect and process only the following data from you:

The Information that you provide by contacting me to use my services: primarily contact details - email address, name & address, and phone number.

Your licence details for regulatory & insurance purposes, and potentially for booking Tests with the DVSA (Driving & Vehicle Standards Agency).

When you contact me to use my services I need to keep a record of that correspondence

Also records of payments and transactions made for my services, just for my accounting
How I use the information
I will only use your personal data as legally permitted. The 2 prime purposes are:
❖ I need to perform the service contracted for between you and me
❖ Where I need to comply with a legal or regulatory obligation I only use information in the following ways:
✓ To provide you with information, or services that you request from me
✓ To carry out my obligations arising from any contracts you enter into with me
✓ To book and name Tests with the DVSA (Driving & Vehicle Standards Agency)
✓ To notify you about changes to my service
✓ To produce internal records for my diary, accountancy, taxation, and any other legal requirements
Disclosure of your information
I don’t use or share your data with third parties, for marketing purposes. The only circumstances where I will disclose your personal information to third parties are:

Where I store your personal data
The data that I collect from you is not transferred to a destination outside the European Economic Area (“EEA”). I take all steps reasonably necessary to ensure that your data is treated securely and in accordance with regulations and this policy. The transmission of information via email to me may not be completely secure; any transmission is at your own risk. Once I have received your information, I use strict procedures and security features to prevent un-authorised access. My computer systems are password protected and only accessible by me.
Data Retention
I will only retain your personal data for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes I collected it for, including for the purposes of satisfying any legal, accounting, or reporting requirements. By law I have to keep basic information about my customers for tax purposes for six years after they cease being customers.
Your rights
Under certain circumstances, you have rights under data protection laws in relation to your personal data. These include the right to:
